This week TITAN PMR has completed its process of accreditation by NHS Digital to perform RTEC. Allowing pharmacies to immediately check if a patient is exempt from prescription.

TITAN will now be able to check for the following exemptions without the need for the patient to complete a self-declaration on the back of the prescription. These checks will include:

• Maternity
• Medical
• Pre-payment
• Low income
• Tax credits

Without the need for the patient to complete a self- declaration on the back of the prescription.

In terms of service; this will present a much easier customer journey for patients as they will no longer need to present proof of exemption.

The ability to check a patients active prescription status whilst you process their prescription removes the need to submit tokens to the NHSBSA and will reduce the risk of prescription fraud or false claiming.

Working with the NHSBSA we aim to introduce RTEC to users of TITAN over the upcoming weeks.

The TITAN PMR system continues to work to provide electronic solutions for Pharmacy which assist in providing quicker, easier & more customer friendly processes.

RTEC is a welcome and logical progression for us in line with this aim.
