Bedminster Health Hub
Pioneering pharmacist, Tariq Muhammad, set up his first pharmacy business at 4-6 Cannon Street in 1994, known as Pharmacy Plus. The pharmacy offered a new type of patient experience placing the pharmacist at the centre of healthcare delivery. The pharmacy became recognised for its exceptional patient care and to the present day, Bedminster Pharmacy continues to support the community with valuable healthcare services.
Invatech Health is now helping regenerate this area as part of a new development which will provide a new type of healthcare service to meet the needs of the local population.
Bedminster’s East Street was once home to a thriving shopping district second only to Broadmead, but over the years has fallen into decline. The bank, the post office, and many of the local shops have closed leaving an area now in need for urgent regeneration.
Meanwhile, health services in the local area are wholly inadequate for the needs of the local population. Local surgeries are at bursting point, putting pressure on pharmacies who have also struggled following the pandemic.
The Bedminster area is undergoing redevelopment and revival with many developers investing in new retail, residential and commercial schemes. Many of these initiatives will be welcomed in the area. However, they will also increase the local population and add further pressures to the burgeoning local healthcare service.
Our vision is to create an iconic landmark building at the heart of Bedminster providing health care services for the community.
The property which comprises the former HSBC bank, Bedminster Pharmacy and William Hill will form the footprint of the new complex. The new build will retain the curved façade of the former bank whilst creating a multi-storey block that is sympathetic with its surroundings and beautiful in its design.
The ground floor will be home to a Pharmacy and a NHS Dental practice on the ground floor. The upper floors will offer a new style of co-living space for healthcare workers, professionals and graduates.
