ATLAS eMAR demonstrate technology for safe medicines management at the Care Show 2019

The ATLAS eMAR team enjoyed a fantastic two days at the Care Show, showcasing how the ATLAS system can be used to improve medicines management from their brand new, glowing stand.

Director of Operations Hooman Safaei and Head of Sales Sajid Ramzan had a great time meeting new people and demonstrating the unique features of ATLAS eMAR at the Care Show on the 9th and 10th of October.  They also loved the chance to catch up with existing customers and other colleagues working in social care, including Big Ian Donaghy, Issac Theophilos and Beverly Futtit – and let’s not forget Claire Sutton camouflaging herself in ATLAS orange on Day 2!  As the first event since the announcement of the successful integration of Person Centred Software and ATLAS eMAR, it was also a great opportunity to catch up with the Person Centred Software team.

Sajid said “We had a great time at the Care Show, it was so nice to see our existing customers and to meet potential new partners”

Hooman said “Medication management in care homes remains a challenge and there was a lot of interest in our proven ATLAS eMAR system. It was also great to see the digital maturity of the sector in that many of the technologies are talking about integrations.”

Dr. Fiona Headley, Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate with ATLAS eMAR and Cardiff University, delivered an informative presentation on how ATLAS eMAR can support medicines management compliance.  In this presentation, Fiona summarized the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Key Lines of Enquiry for medicines with reference to her blog, which explores this in more detail.  She shared some of her findings from exploring CQC reports pre- and post-implementation of ATLAS eMAR in over 50 homes.  This included quotes from post-implementation CQC inspection reports highlighting specific safety features of ATLAS eMAR such as barcode scanning and alerts to prevent early administration and omitted medicines.  Fiona also outlined the research evidence from Cardiff University studies demonstrating the safety, efficiency, waste reduction and beneficial auditing oversight that ATLAS eMAR provides.

She said “What a brilliant show! I had an amazing time catching up with people and exploring, as well as getting to hold a baby chick. It was an honour to present and I would like to thank everyone who came to watch my talk on how ATLAS eMAR can support medicines management.”
